Pipework

Something seems to be happening almost every day there isn't rain, which is great. Went across to the plot this evening and the pipes are in. I'm hoping we'll still be on target for the slab to be completed this week, although there are showers predicted for tomorrow. Took a few more photos, but this time I remembered my wide angle lens so could get more in.

1 November - Piering & Timber

Things are moving along quite quickly. We went on our usual walk to the plot today to see what had happened. (We'd seen the guys on site yesterday putting timber down).

When its all laid out you realise how close we'll be to the neighbours nice concrete wall. Screening looks a must!

We went to Di Lorenzo tiles early in the week. Even the builders choice is overwhelming. We needed better prepartion with the colours and ideas, so when we go for our real appointment I'm going to assemble a colour board of everything because it was quite confusing.

Work continues

Went to the site at lunchtime just to check if anymore work was being done, and it turns out they have continued with the site preparation. The site has been levelled and you can see the different levels of the house (there will be a step up to the back of the house).

Away we go!

Drove to the plot last night to see if work had started. I was hoping something had been done, but with all the rain we've had I was expecting to be disappointed. Great news... work has begun!

We have a Wisdom Homes sign, a portaloo and they've begun the site scrape. Few progress photos for those interested.

Our plot is a battleaxe plot, and our piece of land is at the back. The front plot is vacant. You can see nextdoor is also a battleaxe plot, and that's roughly where the front of our plot starts.

Estimating Completed

What a relief...all paperwork is complete. Estimation is completed and the file is off to CONSTRUCTION! The diggers will be on site next week. A big weight has been lifted, and a bigger one about to land. We've been really impressed with the level of contact from the team. The estimator rang today to say he'd finished his bit and that lots of things had been going on behind the scenes, (measuring?? calculating??) and he was passing the file over to the building team and that our site manager would be Frank.

We Have a Construction Certificate!

We finally have a construction certificate! Nice. The estimators are now ordering all the stuff that's needed for the build to begin. Wisdom have advised that work should begin on site within two weeks. Can't believe something is finally going to happen after all this waiting on the council and being messed around by previous builders.
